T he muck-gushing from shield's screw conveyer poses a safety challenge to the tunnel construction at water-rich sandy stratum. Such operation may affect the discharging of dregs and the soil pressure in concern,which may lead to possible delay in the construction schedule or even secondary hazards,such as surface collapse or water leakage. In this light,the paper refers to the muck-gushing incidences happened in the past to outline the damage caused,the occurrence mechanism and the corresponding countermeasures.
