《镜花缘》是清代著名学者李汝珍的著名长篇小说，成书于《红楼梦》和《儿女英雄传》之间，是研究近代汉语及其发展流变的重要语料。通过对《镜花缘》中的“第”字的分析，了解“第”字在这篇小说中的主要用法和古汉语大致一致。并通过与同时期语料和现代汉语对比，探求“第”字在这一时期用法的特殊性，并把握其大致的发展脉络以及部分意义消失的原因。
《경화연》시청대저명학자리여진적저명장편소설，성서우《홍루몽》화《인녀영웅전》지간，시연구근대한어급기발전류변적중요어료。통과대《경화연》중적“제”자적분석，료해“제”자재저편소설중적주요용법화고한어대치일치。병통과여동시기어료화현대한어대비，탐구“제”자재저일시기용법적특수성，병파악기대치적발전맥락이급부분의의소실적원인。
As a famous novel appeared in the Qing dynasty in China ,Romance of the Mirrored Flowers ( Jinghuayuan) is one of the most important language datum in the study of present day Chinese language .This paper mainly analyzed the Chinese word Di used in Romance of the Mirrored Flowers (Jinghuayuan),It found that the main usage of the word Di in this novel is roughly the same as the usage in ancient Chinese language .The special usage , the development context and the part of disappeared meaning of the word Di(第) in that time are analyzed in the paper .
