Fluorene based on liquid crystals have broad application prospects in numerous areas such as photoelectric light -emitting materials,ferroelectric materials and organic solar cell materials because of their excellent ferroelectric properties,electrical and optical stability.In this paper,we reviewed the lately progress on the study of fluorene based liquid crystals.Including liquid crystals containing fluorenone core, fluorenol core and 9 position substituted fluorene core.The relationship between the structure and mesophase behaviour of such liquid crystals was analyzed.
