旨在探讨优秀运动员自主性学习能力培养的重要意义以及在这一学习模式下，提高优秀运动员英语学习的途径。自主性学习模式是一种以学习者为中心，能事半功倍地提高学习效果的学习方法。它重视学习者的个体差异，不拘泥于课堂教学。学习者在教师的引导下，根据个人情况，有计划、有步骤地自觉安排自己的学习活动。自主性学习的这一特点会有效解决优秀运动员英语学习中所遇到的困境。它们的结合相得益彰，利于运动员在竞技水平、综合素质、退役安置等方面的发展。

The thesis aims at researching the importance of the cultivation of the elite athletes’ Learner Autonomy(LA)competence and in addition,the approach to improving their English learning by means of LA. LA is a kind of student - centered learning method which helps to make the learning process double the result with half the effort. It emphasizes the learners’ individuality and goes beyond the class teaching. Under the guidance of their teachers,the learners learn to plan their learning process in a well - directed and orderly way,which will effectively solve the difficulties confronted by the elite athletes in their English learning. The combination of the LA and English learning will bring out the best in each other,which,in a long run,contributes to the improvement of the elite athletes’competitive level,comprehensive quality,and retirement resettlement,etc. .
