As the steam turbine generator shaft and coupling are high-precision machinery processing products, their machi-ning performance directly determines the stability and security of the shaft system operation. To the existing coupling pin de-fects which were mainly due to many factors in manufacturing, maintenance and operating, such as deflection, out of round and wear, it is found that using methods of chambering and interference bushing, and checking stress through the finite ele-ment method is a more feasible process.
