This paper was written to introduce the CAE-technology used for body-in-white design. At the product design stage, performance indexes of basic modal shape and static stiffness of body-in-white are analyzed and confirmed, and experi-ments are done on the later prototype vehicles. The analysis result shows that the CAE-technology could be effective guidance at the design stage, and could make more accurate prediction on the performance of body-in-white.
