With regard to construction diversion of Bajiangkou Hydropower Project, the authors analyzed the river diversion standard and method as well as the technical characteristics of construction diversion design. Comprehen-sive comparison of diversion schemes was conducted in respects of topographical conditions, construction-period navigation, benefits, combination between permanent and temporary structures. An introduction was made on the de-sign of the optimum scheme.
