In China , about 70% of vinyl chloride monomer products were produced from acetylene hydrochlorination.It was a great challenge to use new -type mercury-free catalysts instead of highly toxic acti -vated carbon supported HgCl 2 catalyst.The development trends of catalysts for the synthesis of vinyl chloride at home and abroad were introduced.Progess in research on the new -type mercury -free catalysts for the synthesis of vinyl chloride was introduced in detail.The further development concepts and prospects of mercury -free catalysts were looked forward.
