“再说”最初是一个结构，后来词化为一个词。一般的词典上列“再说”为两个义项，但实际上“留待以后处理”义的“再说”有动词和助词两种词性，应该看做不同的义项。主要考察包括结构在内的“再说”的四个意义的关系和演变过程，借助认知理论、去范畴化理论、语法化理论等，试图明晰“再说”的发展脉络、再现其语法化历程。
