由于儿童年纪过小，生理上多方面功能均与成人有明显不同。因此，儿童在防御外界疾病方面的能力较弱，染病概率也较大。小儿肾功能仍未完全发育，对药物的代谢能力以及排泄能力也比较弱，不断提高儿科医疗水平。所以，在治疗儿科疾病时，掌握儿科的用药特征，确保用药的合理性很重要。建立儿科药物不良反应监测和申报制度，开展药学信息服务，减少儿科不合理用药，保证药物疗效，对提升儿科用药水平有积极促进作用。如何指导患儿正确使用药物，提高药物的安全性和有效性，降低药品不良反应的发生，是每一位药师在调配处方时应该注意的问题。
