Vertical optical meter for measuring the straightness of shaft parts is an important experimental project of mechanical specialty teaching in vocational colleges .It plays an important role in improving student's ability of application engineering capability in the aspect of metrology .Combining with the actual teaching situation , it summarizes the existing problems in the process of students experimenting , analyzes the causes of appearing lar-ger errors or even contrary conclusions in detail for the experimental process and data processing etc ., puts for-ward the countermeasures in order to teaching furthest students and practicing engineering exercise ability of students .The practice proves that the teaching obtains good effect .
