《说岳全传》作为岳飞题材集大成之作，其神怪情节历来为小说家所诟病。但是，对于这些超现实的故事情节，也不能一概斥之为糟粕。一方面，这是作者对故事本身的构造，情节要素之间具备“因果关系”，发展符合或然律或必然律；另一方面，某些情节或许荒唐，却取材于早期民间传说，反映了民众的爱憎和信仰。神怪情节借助神话、仙话与鬼话三种民间文学样式进行“安排”，丰富了故事情节，迎合了大众审美，其出现也具有一定的必然性和小说史意义。

The Tale of Yue Fei is a masterpiece as the theme of Yue Fei,but its fantastic plots have always been criticized by some novelists.However,indeed,these surreal stories can't be totally de-scribed as dross.On the one hand,this is the structure of the story itself,with the"casual relationship"between the development of plot elements,conforming to the law of probability or law;On the other hand,some details may be absurd,but the are based on the early folklore,reflecting the people's feel-ings and beliefs.The fantastic plots arranged by myths,immortal stories and ghost stories can not only enrich the story and cater to the public aesthetics,but also have a certain inevitability and significance in the history of the novel.
