The pharmacology and pharmaceutical researches of TangHerb are summarized based on the literatures published in recent years. Pharmacology researches showed TangHerb has those functions such as anti-virus, regulation of the immune and antioxidant. Acute dermal toxicity test demonstrated the safety of TangHerb. TangHerb has no impact on the pharmacokinetics of efavirenz in HIV patients when taken in an hour after efavirenz. TangHerb may delay the absorption, increase the time to reach the maximum concentration, and improve the bioavailability of lopinavir. In product quality aspect, the requirements of GMP are strictly abided by in the production of TangHerb and its quality standard was established. The HPLC ifngerprint for water-soluble composition in TangHerb is established by the continuous study on the basis of the original quality standards.
