T hese principles focus on the problem‐centered instruction or task‐based implementation , experiencing a four‐phase cycle of instruction :activation , demonstration , application and integration . T he successive application of these First Principles of Instruction defines increasingly effective levels of instructional strategy . The performance enhancements promoted by First Principles of Instruction will be most evident in performance on complex problems .
