This paper brielfy describes the types and the dynamics of the defects inspection techniques on the steel wire rope, and compares and analyzes the performance parameters and characteristics between domestic and foreign electric-magnetic inspection instruments of the steel wire rope, ifnally it summarizes the existing problems of this technique and makes an evaluation on the project application, combining with the practice.
