东北地区是清朝以后形成的地理区域概念，行政区划有分有合，区域关系十分复杂。交通运输是经济发展的骨架和先行官，经过古代、近代、伪满和新时期的发展，东北地区形成结构相对完整、运输能力较强、线网水平较高的综合网络体系，在资源产品调度、地缘关系协调、战略政策制定、经济格局调整等方面起引领支撑作用，使得经济重心由辽河沿岸、中东铁路沿线转向哈大轴两侧，首位城市由奉天、辽阳、吉林、齐齐哈尔等水运城市和军事防御城市到营口、哈尔滨、大连、长春再到现今沈阳和大连，开放格局由封闭半封闭、与中原联系密切到全方位融入世界市场，国际关系由抵抗外国势力入侵、全面陷入殖民境地到多边交流互动。最后，针对交通运输建设过程中存在的问题提出相应对策。

Transportation is the backbone and pioneer of economic development, through ancient and modern, Manchukuo and the new era of development, the Northeast China formed integrated network system that structure is relatively intact, the transport capacity is large, wire mesh level is high , it has played leading and supporting role in the scheduling of resource products, geopolitical relations coordination, strategic policy development and economic structure adjustment , the economic gravity is from along the Liao River Basin, Middle-east Railway to Harbin - Dalian shaft, the primary city followed the order of Fengtian, Liaoyang, Jilin, Qiqihar of water transportation and military defense cities to Yingkou, Harbin, Dalian, Changchun, Shenyang and Dalian, and then today, opening pattern is from closed or semi-closed, close ties with the Central Plains to the full integration into the world market, international relation is from resist the invasion of foreign forces, the colonial situation fully into the multilateral interaction. Finally, put forward corresponding countermeasures according to construction of transportation problems.
