网络信息技术的飞速发展使科学研究进入信息化时代,科研信息化的本质是基于强大信息基础设施的全球化合作。这种基础设施由多层构成,面向科研工作者的具体应用层是被直接使用的虚拟科研环境,该环境作为基于网络的工作空间,能够支持科研实践的社区,能提供各种有价值的学术资源,表现出较强的开放性和灵活性,能支持研究过程中及研究结束后研究成果的分享和知识产权保护。合作成员间的信任、承担责任的能力、基于虚拟环境的研究议程的透明度和清晰度,以及环境的通讯与监控水平这四个方面是影响虚拟科研环境应用效果的关键因素。大规模集成与互操作性、可持续性和适用性这三个方面决定了虚拟科研环境被广泛使用的程度。

With researches coming into the information age because of the rapid development of network information technolo-gy, the nature of e-Science is the global cooperation based on powerful information infrastructure. This infrastructure consists of a plu-rality of layers, in which the specific application layer facing the researchers is a virtual research environment that can be used di-rectly. This virtual environment as a network-based working space is able to support communities with scientific practice, provide a variety of valuable academic resources, show strong openness and flexibility, share the study findings and protect intellectual property in the research and at the of Trust and cooperation among members, the ability to assume responsibility, transparency and clarity of the research agenda based on virtual environments, and the level of communication and monitoring of the environment are four key factors affecting the application of virtual research environment. Three aspects of large-scale integration and interoperability, sustain-ability and applicability determine the extent of the popularity of a virtual research environment.
