近年来，在建设现代化文化强国、构建社会主义核心价值观的背景下，文学创作也越来越活跃，特别是去年莫言荣获诺贝尔文学奖，对文化界特别是当代文坛是一个巨大的鼓舞。在互联网影响日益广泛的当下，当代文学的类型和样态也越来越多样化，不论纸媒文学或电媒文学都为文学作品的传播插上了翅膀，尤其是网络文学和影视文学的受众越来越广泛。但是，当前的文学评论或文学史书写不仅滞后于文学创作，也缺乏经典性的体系标准。寻求一个合理的公认的普适的价值尺度，既是繁荣文学创作、开展文学评论乃至书写文学史的需求，也是广大受众或不同层次的读者的内在要求。
