Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address demonstrates its presence once in a while everywhere. Its historic prominence was evidently foreseeable according to the background;its notability till today may need further discussion. This paper will look into the Address from three parts—its relationship with the Declaration of Independence, usage of metaphor as well as Lincoln ’s profile while speaking, to get a shallow view of Gettysburg Address’s prominence and its reason.
