As its outstanding advantages of good safety, high capacity and less pollution to environment, lithium iron phosphate cathode material is now one of the most promising cathode materials applied in high-power lithium-ion batteries. However its low electronic conductivity and ionic conductivity and other shortcomings are as obvious as its virtues mentioned above. In this paper, practical application potential of lithium iron phosphate cathode material in the high-power lithium-ion batteries was analyzed from the aspects of key characteristics of the material described, such as rate performance, energy density, cycle life and high-low temperature performance. And domestic and foreign markets of LiFePO4 were introduced at the same time.
