It is studied on the topographic terrain of hilly area . The relationships are analyzed between the nature and the spatial pattern of streets of the city, landscape architecture and space markers. Complying with nature is the hidden meaning of the built environment of Xiangtan city in the Ming-Qing dynasty. The case positivist is used. The natural environment is very important of the spatial pattern of the traditional city created.
