磁性液体的浮力原理是磁性液体静力学中最具吸引力的效应之一。浸没于磁性液体中的永磁体受到的浮力大于阿基米德浮力,这个差值称之为磁性液体的二阶浮力。磁性液体的二阶浮力的计算由于涉及磁场计算的复杂性而变得困难。数值计算也有太多的假设条件。用实验的方法首先形象地展示了永磁体在磁性液体中的悬浮,而后测定了在不同直径的圆柱容器中、不同尺寸的永磁体浸没于不同饱和磁化强度的磁性液体中所受到的轴向二阶浮力随永磁体与容器壁相对位置的定量变化关系曲线,分析了不同的因素对这种变化关系的影响规律。

The buoyancy principle of magnetic fluid is one of the most attractive effect of magnetic fluid statics. The buoyant force suffered by the permanent magnet immersed in magnetic fluid is greater than Archimedes force, and the difference is called the second-order buoyancy of the magnetic fluid. But it is too difficult to directly calculate the buoyancy due to the complexity of magnetic field. Moreover numerical calculation employs too many assumptions. So in this paper the experimental method is adopted firstly to show the suspension of permanent magnet immersed in magnetic, and then to measure the second-order buoyancy received by permanent magnet immersed in magnetic fluid, which depends on the distance between the magnet and the wall of vessel. The influence of the diameter of cylindrical vessels, the size of magnets and the saturation magnetization of magnetic fluids on the buoyancy is also analyzed qualitatively.
