Gene chip technology is a new biological technique,which was developed along with the human genome project,through combination of the achievement of several subjects,such as life science,physics,electronics,computer science and bio-informatics.The advantages of this technology include:high integration,high content.micromation,parallelism,diversification and automatization.Currently,Gene chip technology has increasingly been used in clinical fields,including disease diagnosis,treatment guidelines,prognosis,etc.This paper mainly summarizes the application of the gene chip technology and its achievements in the fields of prenatal diagnosis,birth defects and genetic disorders.
