叉头状基因家族蛋白在各种不同的生物和器官中都有表达,但其生物学功能各异.一些Fox家族蛋白成员在肝脏的形成和发育中起着重要作用,能调控糖类、胆汁酸的代谢,其缺失或异常表达可能导致各种肝脏疾病甚至肿瘤的发生,因此也可能成为疾病治疗的新靶标.

Members of Forkhead box family have been shown to be expressed in all types of cells,but their functions vavy.Many members in this family play an important role in liver organogenesis and development.They can also regulate glucose and bile acid metabolism.A loss or gain of Fox function can alter cell fate and lead to many hepatic diseases as well as hepatic carcinogenesis.Therefore,Fox family might be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of liver diseases.
