Recent studies have shown that acne is not only a kind of dermatosis but also a main presentation of many systemic diseases and syndromes.In some cases,acne reflects the presence of systemic abnormalities,and can serve as an ideal model for investigations into the interactions among hormones,innate/ acquired immunity,inflammatory response and genetic factors.To learn the progress in molecular mechanisms,clinical manifestations and treatment of acne-associated syndromes will be beneficial to the understanding of acne pathogenesis and development of new therapies for acne.
