2013年1月25日下午,上海市地质调查研究院副总工程师兼总工程师办公室主任杨建刚教授与上海市地质调查研究院总工程师办公室副主任兼《上海国土资源》编辑部主任龚士良教授,专程赴中国科学院地质与地球物理研究所,拜访了该所原所长、中国地质大学(北京)地球物理与信息技术学院院长、中国科学院院士刘光鼎研究员,并代表《上海国土资源》期刊进行了专题访谈.
刘院士阐述了综合地球物理学及其实践成果,强调地质学要与地球物理学相结合;指出地球物理是现代地球科学研究中的高新技术,在地质调查深化与工作领域拓展,特别是在海岸带与海洋地质调查中,应充分重视综合地球物理学的应用;地球物理勘探技术不仅是认识地球的重要手段,也要在资源勘查、环境保护、灾害防御等事关国计民生的重大领域中发挥更大作用,同时也是保护海洋国土、维护海洋权益的重要技术支撑;海洋地质的学科体系建设与完善,应将地球物理学纳入其中.

@@@@Prof. LIU Guang-Ding is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the original director of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics at CAS, and also a dean at the School of Geophysics and Information Technology at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing), and was interviewed exclusively by the Journal of Shanghai Land and Resources on the afternoon of January 25, 2013. @@@@Prof. Liu is a renowned geophysicist and marine geologist, one of the pioneers of marine geophysical prospecting, and oil and gas exploration in China, and a distinguished scientist with a global reputation who compiled the Atlas of Geology and Geophysics in China Sea Areas and Neighborhood. @@@@In this interview, Prof. Liu discusses the practical application of geophysical techniques, emphasizing the complementary aspects of geology and geophysics, and points out that recent advances in the technology used in earth sciences research and geological surveying have led to important developments in coastal and marine geology. Geophysical prospecting technology is an important means of understanding the earth, and plays a significant role in the fields of resources exploration, environmental protection, and the monitoring and mitigation of natural disasters, but also provides important technical support to those protecting the marine landscape and maintaining marine rights and interests. Consequently, marine geology should be incorporated into the study, teaching, and commercial use of geophysics.
