吴筠是唐代道教诗人中知名度比较高的一位,诗名很大,备受人们的赞赏.其道教诗歌继承了道教善于运用文学形式阐释教义、记载修道思想和方法的传统,主要阐释了神仙实有,积学可致;宝神养形,永超形神;虚静去噪,忘心自然等三方面的修道理念.从某种程度上来说,开全真派丘处机《磻溪集》以诗词抒写道心之先河.

Wu Jun was one of famous Taoism poets in Tang dynasty, whose poems were well-known and appreciated by people. His poems inherited the tradition that Taoism was good at explaining the meaning of the religion, and recording the thoughts and ways of Taoist by the form of literature. It mainly explained the Taoist philosophy from three sides: becoming a god by accumulating knowledge, keeping healthy over a god and staying calm in nature. In a sense, he was a precedent beyond Pan Xi Ji written by Qiu Chuji of Quanzhen sect.
