从系统功能理论来看,林肯的演讲“Gettysburg Address”的主位和主位推进模式具有特别的价值.语篇中主位的选择主要由语式支配;兼用平行型及延续型两种主位推进模式能使演讲的主题鲜明,论据有力.主位及主位推进模式有助于读者把握整个语篇的句际联系和发展过程,从而更加准确地理解语篇的意义.

@@@@Based on Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG), this paper studies the Theme and thematic progression of Lincoln’s“Gettysburg Address”. It reveals that the choosing of theme in a discourse is determined by the mode and that the use of constant theme pattern and simple linear pattern in the address makes the major idea clearer and the ar-gument more powerful. It shows that theme and thematic analysis helps readers to grasp the clausal relation and the development of a discourse for better understanding and appreciation.
