英国著名教育思想家约翰·洛克提倡对儿童要及早教育,并强调要在儿童刚开始懂得服从时就树立起父母的威信,但这种威信并不是粗暴的,而是要有理性指导的,这样才能让孩子对父母产生理性的服从与敬佩,并在孩子逐渐能够运用理性时,将这种威信慢慢转化成平等的尊敬与爱护.这一先见性的观点至今仍能引起人们的共鸣与思考,对当今人们日益重视的家庭教育有很大的参考价值和借鉴意义.
