新功夫剧是以真功夫和历史文化内涵为依托的功夫文化电视剧,文章在对新功夫剧的概念以及文化内涵进行总结、归纳的基础上,从武术传播学、电视剧学等理论角度出发,认为新功夫剧是我国武术文化传播的新路径,分析了新功夫剧《少林寺传奇》的成功之道,探寻出新功夫剧对武术传播的积极作用,认为新功夫剧可以传播并丰富中国武术文化、为国内外观众树立起真实的中国武术形象、丰富武术影视传播理论以及吸引更多的武术爱好者,有效扩大武术习练人群.
