湘西苗族把人类生命的终结分为“死好”和“死丑”两类.湘西苗族这种死亡观念是在其特定的恶劣的生存条件下产生的,体现了苗族追求生命的完美终结,与过去苗族阶级分化水平和生产力发展水平相关.这种习俗对于苗族社会里的养老和社会稳定具有一定的促进作用.

@@@@The Miao people in western area of Hunan think there are two kinds of people's death , “good -deaths” and “bad -deaths” .This custom was formed in the bad living condition of the western area of Hunan , reflecting the Miao people valuing the normal deaths ,and related with the low -class division and low productive force in the area .This custom of Miao promotes the public security and pension issue in the Miao community .
