The problem of SF6 leakage from high-voltage electrical equipments concerns the safe operation of power systems, economic benefit and enviroment protection, and thus it is necessary to have effective detection methods. Classifying dozens of the detection methods into active and passive ones, this paper does a comparison among them according to their detection form, real-time character, detection range and accuracy, working status and complexity as well as the cost, poinding out the usuable condition for each method.
