With the popularization of solar energy technology, the preparation of polysilicon which is the core technology of PV industry has attracted more interest. In this paper, status and development trend of solar grade polysilicon production process was reviewed. Advantages and disadvantages of various polysilicon production technologies were compared. Furthermore, problems regarding pollution and energy consumption were discussed.
