XE93 2MW direct-drive electrical exciting synchronous generators for gearless wind turbine are of a new type that developed by XEMC in order to expand low-cost wind power generator. This paper describes the main design basis, design principles, main design features and advantages, as well as the application prospects. From the view point of the type test results, the 2MW grade direct-drive electrical exciting synchronous generators for gearless wind turbine has been developed successfully with excellent performance.
