How to supply electric power meeting the requirements to users is the important content of power distribution network plan-ning;how to realize distribution network losses reduction and to ensure power quality at the same time is now the study direction of distri-bution network planning. Synthetic description was carried out for distribution network planning, and related models and algorithms were summarized and analyzed. Some assumes were raised for distribution network planning. Combined with the present development of power network, this paper looked forward to the trends of further study.
