This paper introduces the basic theory of directional solidification technology and states the calculation principle of main parameters H/D和WB/WI of directional solidification steel ingot .It discusses the elements to influ-ence temperature distribution, solidification rate variation and segregation formation and distribution during directional solidification by anatomy experiment and computer simulation in qualitative and quantitative , and states the function of process parameters of directional solidification steel ingot to realize natural refining .
