The uncertainty in measurement of initial luminous efficacy for metal halide lamps was accessed.The main source of the uncertainty was analyzed and the uncertainty in measurement of power and initial lumen was tested to get the combined uncertainty.At last,the uncertainty in measurement of initial luminous efficacy for metal halide lamps was calculated as 1.04(lm/W),which provide the reliable theoretical basis for improving the validity in measuring the initial luminous efficacy for metal halide lamps.
