Fired shale hollow brick is a new type of energy-saving walling material. The factors affected the architectural designing of the shale hollow bricks were studied and discussed on its mechanical and thermal properties, proposing the best selection of different hole shapes, number of holes, holes arranged in size and platoon, hole wall thickness and hole chamfer.
