Fragrance is one of the most important qualities in aromatic rice ,and it has become a hot issue in sci‐entific research on rice .Aromatic rice is widely accepted by the broad masses of the customers for the advan‐tage of high eating quality and high economic value .The fragrance chemical composition ,inheritance of aroma , mapping and cloning of fragrance gene were reviewed .And the application and breeding research of aromatic rice were prospected .
