Piano major is always one of the important majors in the arts academy of comprehensive universities. Based on teaching experience, the paper analyzes the state quo of piano major from several general aspects, including the quality of student resource, the entrance exam, the arrangement of curriculum, the teaching content and the stu-dent’s practice ability, and puts forward proposals and constructive suggestions to promote the overall level in teaching piano.
