隐喻不仅是一种修辞手段,而且是人类认识抽象事物的重要认知工具.概念隐喻理论的运用对大学英语词汇的教学有相当大的帮助.隐喻概念在扩大英语词汇量、理解短语搭配、掌握一词多义以及促进词汇学习系统化等方面具有积极作用,音体美专业学生大学英语词汇教学中应遵循英语语言的本质特征,将概念隐喻分析与大学英语教学实际有效地结合起来,这是提高该专业学生大学英语词汇教学的质量的有效途径.

Metaphor is not only a means of rhetoric but also the most important cognitive tool for human under-standing of abstract things. Conceptual metaphor theory has done a good favor to college English vocabulary teaching. The purpose of this Paper is to demonstrate the positive role that conceptual metaphor theory plays in enlarging Eng-lish vocabulary, understanding the phrase structures, mastering polysemy and facilitating vocabulary learning systemati-cally. And then it comes to the conclusion:to music, physical education and art majors, their college English vocabu-lary teaching should obey the essential feature of language, combine the analysis of conceptual metaphor into English teaching effectively;and this is the best way to improve the quality of college English vocabulary teaching and learning.
