Individual difference is a very important factor that may greatly affect the process of second language acquisition. Indi?vidual difference factors include age, gender, language aptitude, motivation, personality, learning style and learning strategies, the main of which is learning motivation. The paper mainly deals with the domestic and foreign classifications of motivation, affect?ing factors and influences of motivation on second language acquisition and the strategies of stimulating learning motivation.
