In this paper, the mechanism of semiconductor photocatalytic oxidation in the degradation of organic contaminants was studied, and the advantage of using TiO2 as the catalyst was introduced. In addition, the recent research on the reactor, the photocatalytic kinetics and how to raise the catalytic effect were summarized. Moreover, the future development was prospected.
