Mannich reaction is a classic method of preparing β-amino ketone or aldehyde. But traditional Mannich reaction often suffers from drastic reaction conditions, long reaction time, unwanted byproducts and low selectivity. In some extent, it might be a solution of the above questions by adopting preformed electrophilic reagent. As a typical preformed electrophilic reagent, Eschenmoser’s salt has wide applications in organic syntheses. Its applications in organic syntheses are introduced.
