Metal complexes of cyclodextrin and transition metals are summarized in this article. Emphasis has been given to the interaction between cyclodextrins and transition metals, and the interaction between functionalized cyclodextrins and transition metals. Test methods of cyclodextrin complexes are also reviewed. The developments in cyclodextrin science offer exciting perspectives which have been depicted in the article.
