This paper presents the definition and classification of colloidal catalysts. Meanwhile, the differences between colloidal catalysts and cluster catalysts were analyzed. The properties of defects in colloidal catalyst were also analyzed. The basic characters of colloidal catalytic reaction and its shortcoming were described in detail.
