Supramolecular aggregates based on perylene tetracarboxylic diimide (PDI) have been paid more attention due to their special photophysical and photochemical properties. The synthesis and general properties of PDIs and the different PDI aggregates based on different intermolecular interactions were introduced. The prospect of these aspects is included.
