The establishing and managing methods of common die and mould standard parts library in die and mould design were analyzed; and their advantages and disadvantages were presented. A new method based on Excel database functions was proposed to estab?lish the complex component family files. Taking five kinds of standard punches with differ?ent points’section as example, the procedures for establishing the standard parts library were presented. The method is simple and practical, no secondary development is needed and the design efficiency is increased.
