The forming process of a transmission shaft part with a square hole on the shaft-end was analyzed, and the blank and a composite extrusion forming die were de?signed. By using Deform-3D to establish a three-dimensional plastic finite element model of the part, the forming process was simulated and analyzed on which the die was optimized and improved.
