由教育思想、制度和实践构成的教育知识存在于特定的语境中.按照柯林伍德的历史观,历史知识包括问题及对问题的回答两个部分.而问题和回答都是发生在语境之中的.没有语境因而也就没有真正的知识.因此,在知识学的意义上,外国教育史教材编写中存在的去语境现象是不合法的.从外国教育史教材的功用即帮助学生习得知识和生产知识的角度看,去语境式写作不利于教材功用的正当发挥.提出教材编写应注意在连贯的、具有开放性的语境中描述和解释教育知识.

Educational knowledge contains educational thought, institutions and practice in certain contexts. According to R.G. Collingwood, it involves a question and its answer that both occur in a context. Therefore, no real knowledge can go without its context. The de-context in compiling textbooks of foreign educational history is assumed to be improper. This essay believes that the de-contextualization distorts a textbook's objective and role to help students acquire and produce knowledge. It suggests defining and interpreting educational learning in a coherent and open situation to compile a textbook.
